The Queen of Disco has lost her battle with lung cancer. Donna Summer passed away Thursday morning at the age of 63.

Summer's family confirmed her death and issued a statement to the AP, saying they "are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can't express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time."

TMZ quotes sources who said Donna was trying to keep the severity of her lung cancer under wraps and was even working on another album leading up to her death.
