Since the death of Amy Winehouse in 2011, her home in Camden has served as a monument of sorts. Her family has decided to go forward and sell the home, and while her belongings were being catalogued for a sale to benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation, two very valuable dresses went missing. Winehouse's wedding dress, a short white dress with red anchors which she wore when she wed Blake Fielder-Civil and another newsprint cocktail dress she wore when she performed on a British talk show.
Mitch Winehouse, Amy's father, who runs the Amy Winehouse Foundation has noted that the thief clearly knew that these dresses were worth more in sentimental value. He said, "There were a couple from Dolce & Gabbana worth a fortune. Whoever nicked it realised its significance and knew it had an extra value... It's sickening that someone would steal something in the knowledge of its sentimental value."
The dresses together are worth an estimated $210,000.
