Earlier today we learned that, according to Sir Ian McKellen, who appears in the upcoming film, The Hobbit, he has prostate cancer. 

Britain's Mirror tabloid claimed McKellen has had prostate cancer for the last six or seven years. 

When ABC News attempted to confirm the story with McKellen's agent, Chris Andrews, he denied the claim. 

"No, he does not have prostate cancer. That was taken out of context and from an interview from years ago."

So, either he does or doesn't. Or maybe he did and now he doesn't? 

Here's hoping he doesn't. If he shows up at The Hobbit screening tonight, I'll make sure and ask him about it.
