Chlo Moretz has named her top three "fashion basics".

The teenage actress has been making waves in the movie and fashion industry alike and is often pictured in the front row of international catwalk shows. But despite her high fashion red carpet looks, the 15-year-old's style favorites are surprisingly low-key.

"Ballerinas, black and jewelry. These three elements are essential for a simple look, but smart and chic," she told French publication Le Figaro.

Chlo also revealed the beauty tip that makes her look fresh-faced in the morning. The Hugo star explained that the simple but effective trick helps her wake up and look camera-ready.

"I rinse my face with cold water. My mother claims that if I'm not doing it, I always look sleepy an hour after I wake up," she said.

Despite Chlo's life in the limelight, the Hollywood star loves to hold on to her family's traditions. The Kick-Ass actress named her favorite smell as blueberry syrup, because it reminds her of sharing meals with her nearest and dearest.

"It reminds me of my grandmother. Every Saturday morning, we'd sit around the table to have sumptuous breakfasts. My grandmother cooked us pancakes, which she served with blueberry syrup. The smell reminds me my childhood, happy and sweet," she explained.
