Joining The Bourne Legacy cast wasn't quite "an easy 'yes' " for Jeremy Renner.
The actor portrays the lead character Aaron Cross in The Bourne Legacy, the fourth installment of the Bourne movie franchise.
Jeremy believes Aaron is the complete opposite of Matt Damon's Jason Bourne persona.
At first the thespian admits that he was a little hesitant about becoming part of the project.
"[Later] it was an easy 'yes.' Prior to that, I wasn't sure how they would do it, so it was an easy 'no.' They told me I would not be playing Jason Bourne. I was not interested in doing that," he explained to USA Today.
"I was curious, and the script came a couple of days later. How would they do a Bourne movie without the central character? It seemed so asinine. Once I saw the script, that was it."
Before filming The Bourne Legacy, Jeremy was busy wrapping up two major movies, this year's superhero hit The Avengers and 2013 fantasy comedy Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
The Bourne Legacy premieres in theaters this weekend.
