Kanye West has denied comparing his reported new girlfriend Kim Kardashian with Beyonc Knowles.

The 34-year-old rapper is a close friend and collaborator with the Single Ladies star's husband, Jay-Z.

And Kanye says there is no way he would ever speak about the music superstar in that way.

"Of course there are a lot of media inaccuracies surrounding this past couple of weeks," Kanye told Us Weekly about romance rumors with Kim.

"Especially the 'She's my Beyonc' quote. I would never compare anyone to my friend's wife."

The quote was even subsequently used in a funny Saturday Night Live sketch over the weekend.

"Come on now, that doesn't even sound like me," Kanye insisted. "If I don't say something in a rap or on Twitter, it's not true."

Kanye and Kim were seen spending lots of time together earlier this month including an overnight stay at the Grammy winner's Tribeca home in New York.

The outspoken Otis star recently changed the title of his new track Theraflu to Way Too Cold where he talks about falling "in love with Kim."
