Keira Knightley wishes she could have taken some positivity from her character in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.
The Hollywood actress stars alongside Steve Carell in the dark comedy, which follows a couple of offbeat characters who take a road trip as an asteroid is nearing the Earth.
Keira plays quirky Penny in the film, and wishes she had some of her character's traits.
"I'd love to be more like Penny. I loved her positivity. Yes, she'd be emotional and she'd be crying and then the next moment she'd go, 'No, the sun is shining and this is excellent,'" she smiled to Moviehole.net.
"I love that personality trait in anybody, I wish I was more like that."
Keira is famed for her roles in more serious films. The British star was impressed with the script for Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and felt compelled to test herself by appearing in the movie.
"I love period pieces, I love dramas, I love tragedies. Really, that's what I love doing the most, but I like change, I like doing different things," she said.
"I read the script and thought I'd never read anything like it. I thought it was an extraordinary thing. I think I've always wanted to be a part of it. I don't think it's been an attempt to escape from anything else, I just thought it was a wonderful story."
