Shia LaBeouf is reportedly in talks to star in Danish director Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac.
The Transformers actor will take on a serious role in the erotic drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He will lead opposite actress Charlotte Gainsbourg in the feature, who worked with Lars before in his hit 2011 sci-fi drama Melancholia.
Nymphomaniac is a two-part movie and there will be two versions of the film, one cut to be more sexually explicit. The plot centers on the sexual exploits of a woman, portrayed by Charlotte, from her youth to the age of 50. It is unknown how large Shia's role will be.
Shia is preparing for a host of independent films to be released in upcoming months.
The star plays a bootlegger in period biographical gangster film Lawless, which will hit theaters Labor Day weekend.
Shia will also appear in the Robert Redford helmed thriller The Company You Keep. The feature will premiere at the 69th Venice Film Festival that begins later on this month.
