Reese Witherspoon "feels great" in her second trimester.

The 36-year-old actress is currently expecting a child with her husband Hollywood talent agent Jim Toth.

In recent weeks Reese has been spotted playing tennis, going on hikes and attending several industry events.

Reese flew over to Europe to promote her movie Mud at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival this week and spoke about how she is faring physically.

"The flight over was actually pretty good. I feel great," she told Us Weekly magazine. "I'm excited about showing the movie. The energy here is great!"

Reese and her beau Jim attended The Paperboy afterparty at Cannes Thursday evening. The actress missed dinner, but she nibbled on macarons, mini eclairs and strawberry tartlets throughout.

Jim appeared to be especially supportive of his wife.

"She and Jim were talking closely... he was clearly protective of her whenever they were standing up or walking around, practically putting both arms around her," a source told the publication.

The couple stayed until just under midnight. Reese looked cozy in her unembellished garb.

"She was wearing a simple black dress and black jacket. She looked like she was more about comfort than being glamorous," the onlooker described. "The baby bump is definitely taking shape now--Reese has a little waddle when she walks, which was cute!"
