Reese Witherspoon was admitted to hospital Wednesday afternoon.

The 36-year-old actress is currently expecting her third child her first with second husband Jim Toth.

Reese is due in September, but she and her unborn baby were reportedly experiencing some problems.

"Reese was actually taken to the hospital on Tuesday night with complications," a source told Radar Online.

"She was released that night and then rushed back to the hospital today. At this point it looks like she might have the baby. Reese and Jim are a little worried about having the baby so early."

Extra reports that Reese and her child are "fine and in good health". She has not yet delivered the baby.

According to family friends, the blonde beauty is excited to welcome a sibling for her two children - Ava, 12, and Deacon, eight with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.

Reese and Jim were married in 2010.
