Rihanna has been on her first "date" in almost two years.

The songstress took to her Twitter last night to update followers on her much-talked about love life. Nearly a month after being romantically linked to Ashton Kutcher, the star revealed she was enjoying her new single status.

"I'm on my first date in almost 2 yearz (sic)," she posted on the social networking site, before revealing that she was in fact spending time with her long-time friend Melissa Forde.

"#datenight my lover for the night @mforde11 (sic)," she wrote a little later with an accompanying photo of the two together.

In a series of tweets, Rihanna updated her fans on her escapades on their night out.

"So Melissa's only f**kin wit me til 4/20 #phuck," she said. "2night is gon' be a good one, I could feel it! #1LOVE #420 #MARLEY (sic)."

Rihanna was linked to Ashton after she was spotted leaving his Los Angeles bachelor pad at 4am last month.

The beauty brunette also sparked rumors of a reconciliation with ex Chris Brown after the pair exchanged messages on Twitter.

Rihanna also took to Twitter to discuss her choreography for her upcoming Where Have You Been music promo.

The star released a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of her upcoming video via her YouTube page on Thursday, days after unveiling two promo shots.
