Ryan Reynolds has reportedly signed on to star in Queen of the Night.
The 35-year-old actor will appear in Atom Egoyan's upcoming psychological thriller, according to Deadline.
The Green Lantern leading man will start production on the movie in Ontario next February.
Atom wrote the script with David Fraser and the story centers on a father, played by Ryan, who finds a series of disturbing clues eight years after his daughter is abducted.
The signs make the distraught parent believe that his now 17-year-old girl is still alive and he is determined to find where she is.
"I'm very excited about working with Ryan," Atom said. "The richness of his performances in such diverse films as Buried, Safe House and romantic fare such as The Proposal is extraordinary."
Ryan has wrapped filming on R.I.P.D. with Jeff Bridges and is the favorite to star in the Highlander remake.
Director Atom is currently shooting his new crime drama Devil's Knot starring Reese Witherspoon, Colin Firth and Stephen Moyer. The feature is a drama about the real life West Memphis Three murder case that involved bizarre satanic rituals.
