Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are divorcing.

The couple have been married for five years and have six-year-old daughter Suri together.

In a statement obtained by TMZ, Katie's attorney Jonathan Wolfe confirmed news of the high-profile breakup.

"This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family," the spokesperson said.

"Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest."

Tom has two other children; Connor and Bella, from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.

Tom and Katie tied the knot in November 2006 in an extravagant ceremony in Italy.
