Adele has revealed that she has given up drinking alcohol after being a “borderline alcoholic” in her twenties.
During her most recent Weekends with Adele show in Las Vegas, the British hitmaker shared that she has decided to quit drinking alcohol after overindulging in her twenties.
According to the Mail Online, during the concert, Adele told the audience that she was a “borderline alcoholic” in her twenties. She also confessed that she has found her newfound sobriety “boring”.
“I stopped drinking maybe like three and a half months ago,” the I Drink Wine singer told the crowd. “It’s boring. I mean, I was literally borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my twenties, but I miss it so much. I cut out caffeine.”
While speaking to an audience member who had spent the day drinking, the Rolling in the Deep singer told them, “So enjoy your whiskey sour. I’m very, very jealous.”
The 35-year-old previously admitted that she once consumed four bottles of wine before 11am while in Las Vegas during the Covid-19 lockdown.
“I remember when I came here in Covid, in lockdown, it was 11am and I was definitely like four bottles of wine in – like we all were,” she confessed, via the Daily Star. “I said in 2020 that I wanted to put my album out. And we were all at home just drunk basically.”
