Arnold Schwarzenegger is the new host of Celebrity Apprentice.
The Terminator actor replaces businessman Donald Trump on the American show as Donald focuses on his US presidential campaign. Arnold, who was the Governor of California from 2003 – 2011, is extremely excited to be taking us his new post.
“I have always been a huge fan of The Celebrity Apprentice and the way it showcases the challenges and triumphs of business and teamwork,” he said in a statement. “I am thrilled to bring my experience to the boardroom and to continue to raise millions for charity. Let’s get started!”
Fans will have to wait a while longer before they see the action hero on screen though, as Arnold will make his debut on the 2016-17 season. However, his predecessor was quick to wish him the best in taking over his role.
“Congrats to my friend @Schwarzenegger who is doing next season’s Celebrity Apprentice. He’ll be great & will raise lots of $ for charity,” Donald wrote on Twitter before adding: “To all my fans, sorry I couldn’t do The Apprentice any longer—but equal time (presidential run) prohibits me from doing so. Love! (sic).”
Arnold also took to social media, explaining he was “blown away” by all the support he had received from his fans since the announcement was made. As well as his own statement, Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming at NBC Entertainment, spoke about why the Kindergarten Cop star was the man for the job.
“Arnold Schwarzenegger is the epitome of a global brand in entertainment and business, and his accomplishments in the political arena speak for themselves,” he said. “It was Arnold’s personal passion for the format that Mark Burnett and Donald Trump built over the last decade, as well as his fresh take on how to take it to new heights for today’s audiences, that made him the man to hire. The Celebrity Apprentice… will be back!”
