It’s true, however, that Avril Lavigne has been named the most dangerous celebrity… to search on the internet, that is.
Cybersecurity company, McAfee has compiled a list of celebrities that cybercriminals are most likely to use in an effort to gain access to unsuspecting people’s secure information.
If you’re anything like me, you immediately react to the notion that Avril Lavigne is either relevant in 2017 or popular. But there is a very compelling reason that cybercriminals have their eye on her, and more importantly, those who are searching her.
Avril Lavigne fell out of the public eye years ago when she went public with her struggles with Lyme Disease, but in August, she used her social media outlets to promise new music to her fans:
And now fans are anxiously searching her, waiting for her new music to drop.
So, do your best not to google Avril Lavigne and remain vigilant in your effort to stay cybersafe! (Or just go on about your “I don’t google Avril Lavigne ever” life.)0
