Jennifer Aniston says being make-up-free on set of Cake was “dreamy and empowering.”
Yeah, ok.
The 45-year-old actress is known for her A-list looks, and her near-perfect hairdo was even nicknamed “The Rachel” after her Friends character. But her latest project required her to go au naturale, and the star says loved it.
“[It was] so fabulous,” Jennifer gushed during a panel discussion for Deadline. “So dreamy and empowering and liberating.”
It’s also how a lot of the rest of the world feels. Everyday.
Most recently, she has played well made-up roles in broad comedies We’re the Millers and Horrible Bosses. But in this new drama, she takes on the role of a woman named Claire Simmons who is left with facial disfiguration after a car crash.
“The only time I had to sit in the make-up chair was just for the scars,” she told the panel.
The low-budget movie premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and received predominantly positive reviews. The Hollywood Reporter applauded the star’s performance as “honest and sturdy.” For Jennifer, who was also a producer, it was a special film.
“It’s our little love project,” she said. “When I read the script, I was ready to disappear.”
Fortunately the film won’t disappear. After a month without, the film was finally picked up by a distributor and will hit theaters in 2015.
