Halle Berry is stepping behind the camera for her latest project.
The actress’ 606 Films has a first-look deal with CBS TV Studios.
And she’s now teaming up with House executive producer Katie Jacobs on their first project, a medical drama, according to Deadline.
The outlet reports the untitled program follows a surgeon who imprisons himself at a hospital on prison grounds.
Halle and Katie are reportedly serving as executive producers alongside writer Larry Kaplow and 606’s Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.
In front of the camera, Halle is currently starring in CBS TV drama Extant.
The show is scheduled to wrap its current season next week.
Halle recently spoke about her switch from Hollywood films to what was once thought to be the lesser genre: television. Speaking to CNN, the actress insisted, however, that she’s never seen turning to TV “as a negative”.
“As I was doing well in my movie career, I always came back to do television movies. I go where the work is. I go where the characters are. And I’m happy that other people are starting to do the same thing,” she said.
Halle isn’t giving up the big screen for good, however.
Recent reports have suggested she’s been cast in Miles and Me, the story of jazz legend Miles Davis.
Eddie Murphy and Laurence Fishburne have also been circling the project, according to IndieWire.
