Bobbi Kristina’s family can’t get it together for her funeral

Death really can bring out the worst in people.

The wedge between the Brown family and the Houston family has been long publicized. And certainly in the days following the accident that ultimately lead to the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the stories of unrest in the family have bubbled up.

The cockeyed optimist in me had hoped that these families would be able to bury the hatchet long enough to lay Bobbi Kristina to rest. But reality reared it’s ugly head, and Bobbi Kristina’s funeral became a hotbed of drama.

Leolah Brown, the sister of Bobby Brown, was escorted out of the funeral ceremony by Tyler Perry when she used her eulogy as a platform to lash out at Pat Houston (the wife of Whitney’s brother, Gary.) The argument is over Bobbi Kristina’s $20M inheritance. As Leolah Brown was ejected from the ceremony, she exclaimed, “Whitney Houston will haunt Pat Houston from the grave.”

Meanwhile, Bobby Brown’s wife, Alicia Etheridge suffered a seizure from the stress and was rushed to the hospital with a grieving Bobby Brown by her side.

After the ceremony, the Browns and the Houstons held separate receptions in different cities entirely, which unfortunately is probably for the best.

Bobbi Kristina was only 22 at the time of her death, and it’s such a shame that her family wasn’t able to put aside their struggles and drama for just one day to say goodbye to the young lady who died too soon.
