Brad Pitt has broken his silence on his split from Angelina Jolie.
“I am very saddened by this but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids,” Pitt said in a statement to People magazine. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
A statement made by Jolie’s attorney echoed a similar sentiment.
“This decision was made for the health of the family,” attorney Robert Offer said. “She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”
TMZ was the first to report that Jolie filed for divorce on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences and asking for physical custody of their six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox.0
