Renee Zellweger was hitting the press trail hard the past several weeks for Bridget Jones’s Baby, the third film in the Bridget Jones series. Zellweger has been absent from the screen since 2010, with her last credit before this year being a movie called My Own Love Song (yeah, I didn’t catch that one, either…) and Bridget Jones’s Baby was touted as her big comeback.
But apparently no one was interested in the hype because the movie bombed at the US box office this weekend, placing third and taking in only $8 million.

That’s bad news bears. However, all hope is not lost for Bridget, Darcy and the gang because while American audiences didn’t warm to their latest antics, the rest of the world received them with open arms. Internationally, Bridget Jones’s Baby earned $30 million, with $11 million of that number just in the UK. With these numbers, the film has already made back its budget, which means it wouldn’t be surprising if Bridget gets a fourth movie.
