Brittany Matthews has defended Jackson Mahomes from online criticism.

During a Sunday Q&A on her Instagram Story, the former soccer player was asked about her brother-in-law’s controversies, including allegedly sexually assaulting a Kansas bar owner.

“How do you feel about the comments about your BIL (Brother In Law)?” one fan asked, to which Brittany responded, “They are ignorant.”

She continued, “He is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say s**t about him. So it’s best to just shut up.”

The Kansas City Star reported in March Jackson was under investigation after being accused of shoving a teen waiter and forcibly kissing bar owner Aspen Vaughn on 25 February. His attorney Brandan Davies denied the allegation on Jackson’s behalf.

Brittany married Jackson’s brother, Patrick Mahomes, in 2022 after the pair met in school and became engaged in September 2020.
