Caitlyn Jenner settles one of three car crash lawsuits

Caitlyn Jenner

Transgender former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner has settled one of the lawsuits hanging over her following a fatal car crash in February (15).

Kim Kardashian’s stepfather has come to an agreement with fellow motorist Jessica Steindorff, whose Toyota Prius he drove into, causing the death of Kim Howe.

The full details of the settlement have not been released, but Jenner’s insurance company officials have agreed to pay Steindorff, 66, for personal injury and property damage.

Jenner, who was two months shy of announcing her male-to-female transition during a TV news special when the accident occurred on California’s Pacific Coast Highway, was never charged with vehicular manslaughter, but still faces another two lawsuits, including one from the stepchildren of the deceased.

The former athlete maintains she was not speeding or doing anything wrong at the time of the pile-up.

Jenner issued a statement shortly after the accident.

“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident,” Caitlyn, at the time known as Bruce, expressed to Access Hollywood.

“It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”
