Camilla, Queen Consort has received a new royal crest.

On Monday, a representative for Buckingham Palace unveiled the unique cypher, which combines a crown motif and incorporates her ‘C’ initial and ‘R’ for Regina – Latin for Queen.

“The cypher is The Queen Consort’s personal property and was selected by Her Majesty from a series of designs,” a spokesperson explained. “It will be used by The Queen Consort on personal letterheads, cards and gifts, as well as on the cross that Her Majesty will lay at the Field of Remembrance.”

Camilla is set to lay a cross at the Field of Remembrance on Thursday ahead of Remembrance Day on 11 November.

The insignia was designed by Professor Ewan Clayton, a calligrapher at The Royal Drawing School’s Faculty and Academic Board, in collaboration with Timothy Noad, a herald painter and scrivener at The College of Arms.

Camilla’s husband, King Charles III, received his new cypher in September.

His design consists of his initials and title, Rex, Latin for King, alongside a representation of the crown.

Camilla became Queen Consort on 8 September, upon the accession of her husband following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
