TV is definitely where it’s at in entertainment.
Lauded filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen are set to write and direct their first TV series, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs for, where else, Netflix. The show is a six episode anthology series will feature a different story set in the American West. Tim Blake Nelson will star as the title character and the show will debut sometime in 2018.

I’m really excited for The Coen Brothers to take on a TV series with their idiosyncratic storytelling. It’s true that they serve as executive producers of the fabulous FX series, Fargo, but it’s Noah Hawley, the show’s showrunner, who serves as its true creative brain and heart. Hawly works within the universe that the Coens created, but the brothers are probably not involved in the day-to-day production of that show. Buster Sruggs, however, is being written and directed by Joel and Ethan, so you know things are going to get beautifully weird and awfully violent.
Judging by their official statement, The Coens are excited to get strange for Netflix.
I can’t wait!0
