Congratulations to the US women’s national hockey team on reaching a financial agreement with USA Hockey, and avoiding the need to boycott the IIHF World Championships this weekend in Michigan.
The team declared on March 15 that they would not play in the tournament without making a deal, discussions for which began 14 months ago.
With the deal, the women are receiving more financial support, more equitable treatment to the men’s team and greater investment in the development of girls hockey at the grassroots level.
Hell yeah ladies. Way to go.
