Todd Fisher, brother to Carrie Fisher and son of Debbie Reynolds reported to TMZ that Debbie Reynolds felt ill while planning her own daughter’s funeral and was rushed to the hospital with a suspected stroke. He said that she told him, “I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie.”
And if that doesn’t absolutely break your heart wide open, I don’t know what would.
I’ve often said, life’s cruelest pain is having to bury a child. It goes against the natural order. And there’s an unspeakable grief while going through life with part of you on the other side. A grief that only bereaved parents can identify with.
So, to know that only a day later, Debbie Reynolds expressed her wish to be with her daughter on the other side, a wish that many of us bereaved parents have had privately, is absolutely understandable. And to know now that it is so.
Be at peace, Debbie Reynolds.
