Cameron Diaz recently hit headlines when she claimed she “never” washes her face anymore.
During an interview for Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers podcast, the Charlie’s Angels actress confessed that she has shunned complicated beauty regimes in recent years.
“I don’t care. It’s literally the last thing I think about on a daily basis… like maybe not at all during the day, is what I look like,” she commented. “I literally do nothing. I, like, never wash my face.”
But despite Cameron’s controversial take on skincare, chartered scientist and founder of SOS Serum Skincare, Bruce Green, is adamant that everyone needs to wash their face.
“You need to cleanse your face every day – even if you’ve been in the house all day, with no make-up on. Skin perspiration, atmospheric grime (pollutants inside the house), and dead cell removal all occur, so all this (needs) washing off,” he explained. “Skin cleansing is the most overlooked weapon in the battle for happy/radiant skin. Not cleansing the skin well enough is one of the most common skincare mistakes. Not cleansing the face properly will lead to blocked pores which can then become infected and lead to breakouts.”
