Dolly’s Coat of Many Colors scores Big Ratings

I loved this little NBC movie, which was produced by beloved American treasure Dolly Parton.  The story is very reminiscent of Little House on the Prairie or even The Waltons.  It tells the story of Dolly’s family growing up on a run down farm in Locust Ridge Tennessee.  Jennifer Nettles does an amazing job portraying Dolly’s mom.  And if the amazingly talented little girl, who plays a young Dolly, looks familiar, it’s because Alyvia Alyn Lind, a daughter of actors, plays Faith Newman on the CBS daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless.

With 12.8 million viewers, the two-hour special was the most-watched film on the four broadcast networks in nearly four years. It was also a four-year high among 18-49 year olds.  Go Dolly!  If you haven’t seen it, you should!
