Don’t get into a concealer conundrum with these tips

Concealer is without doubt one of two must-have, can’t-live-without beauty products for most women – the other being mascara.

Whether you’re covering tired eyes, rosy patches or big old zits, the power of concealer cannot be underestimated.

Speaking to us about the launch of bareMinerals’ new Original Liquid Mineral Concealer, the brand’s global make-up artist Denika Bedrossian shared her top tips on getting it just right.

“Take two dots of the concealer, you can instantly see what good coverage you get from just those two little dots,” she smiled. “Then I like to take my concealer brush and stipple the product onto the skin, before I pat the product in. Personally, I like to go in with my finger after to make sure everything is really cohesive and blended.”

Inspired by bareMinerals’ Loose Mineral Foundation, the new cover-up is made with 90 per cent naturally derived ingredients that are proven to visibly brighten dark circles and reduce fine lines. The multi-tasking, vegan formula doesn’t just conceal — it improves skin’s appearance instantly and over time, for a healthier-looking complexion.

Below is an application guide on how to use concealer for dark circles and covering blemishes and imperfections suggested by the team at the clean beauty label.

To conceal dark circles:

Choose a shade one or two shades lighter than your skin tone.

Apply three dots of concealer to the under-eye area, then blend outward with your fingers or a concealer brush.

Build as needed for added coverage.

To cover blemishes and imperfections:

Choose a shade that matches your skin tone.

Apply directly onto imperfections then blend with your ring finger or a concealer brush.

Tip: If using liquid foundation, apply after your foundation. If using powder foundation, apply before your foundation.

Other products we really rate are UOMA’s Stay Woke Concealer and Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer, both of which provide full-on full coverage.
