‘Downton Abbey’ with American Accents isn’t as good

Sunday night marks the much anticipated stateside return of Downton Abbey.

While the actors were making the talk show rounds, Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, and Allen Leech stopped to chat with Stephen Colbert.

Colbert posited that the only reason we Americans are obsessed with D.A. is because of their accents. So he plucked a scene out for the actors to perform in American accents.

It’s not nearly as interesting, but they definitely made it hilarious.
