To the most wonderful listeners in the world,
When I started in radio, I never realized what it would mean to speak to the public over the airwaves. It was scary at first. It was always a privilege and a responsibility, and I’ve made a million mistakes.
I’m so grateful to both 1500 ESPN and myTalk for taking a chance on me, and for helping me to grow.
I also want to thank you, our listeners, for giving me a chance. You are so cool, engaged, kindhearted, generous, spunky, funny, loyal and creative. There are voices, names, stories, lessons, tips (!) you have shared over the years that I will never forget. I feel grateful to have been a part of your lives in even the smallest of ways, and more than that, I am in awe of your commitment to the radio station.
myTalk has always been a bit of an underdog, and your dedication has allowed it to succeed beyond what many of us thought was possible. We have been able to do this crazy, weird, hilarious work because of you, and the future of the station is bright.
There will be no shortage of fun and laughter in the nine to noon time slot moving forward with Donna and Steve at the helm. They are two of the most kind, funny, talented and hardworking people I know, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with.
For an in person chance to say a couple more hellos and goodbyes, I hope to see some of you at the Manuary party, details coming soon.
If you missed today’s show, check out the podcast for some fun moments and memories – some tears! – primarily shared in Hour 3.
And of course… don’t go changin’.
