Halle Berry’s Re-spin brand has teamed up with Sweaty Betty for a new clothing collection.
The limited-edition capsule line is inspired by boxing and Japanese jiu-jitsu, as well as Halle’s personal style, and the Oscar-winning actress said she worked closely with the British brand’s design team over Zoom during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I’m so proud of what we’ve created. It’s truly a reflection of my lifestyle and features pieces that can take you from studio to street – and beyond,” she said in a statement.
Halle also revealed that she redesigned Sweaty Betty’s iconic Power Legging for her own collection, and named it after one of her most famous film roles.
“It was an amazing experience to design my own version, named after one of my most iconic roles: Storm,” she said, referencing the mutant superhero she played in the X-Men franchise.
There’s also a pair of shorts named Leticia, which is the name of her character in the 2001 drama Monster’s Ball, which won her a history-making Academy Award.
Halle’s own fitness routine served as inspiration for the 22-piece collection, which features sportswear and leisurewear in a variety of high-performance fabrics in a neutral palette of black, grey and cream, with prices ranging from $78 to $298, in sizes XXS to XXL.
Sweaty Betty chief executive officer Julia Straus said working with the actress and her Re-spin brand was a dream come true.
“Halle Berry is an inspiration. Beyond the product, it is an opportunity to work with an incredibly inspirational and talented partner like Halle to amplify our mission to empower women through fitness,” she said.
“A collaboration like this is true to our core – it delivers on technical performance, but also brings a studio-to-street lifestyle and fashion element that our customers crave,” Julia explained, adding that the collection was also “modern, feminine and versatile.”
The collection will be available from 18 May, with a second drop landing in October.
