At the age of 89, American author, Harper Lee has died. Multiple sources are reporting.

Harper Lee won a Pulitzer Prize in 1961 for her novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, which is studied still in classrooms across the nation.

In 2015, the novel she had written prior, Go Set A Watchmen, which inspired the characters we know and love in To Kill A Mockingbird, was released. The author was said to have never intended to have that book released, but a new manager convinced her otherwise. The books release was a source of controversy as readers learned more about the heroic character from To Kill A Mockingbird, Atticus Finch.

Still, Lee’s novel, To Kill A Mockingbird has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.

Harper Lee reportedly in her hometown of Monroeville, Alabama.
