Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton have split.
The pair, who have been together for 13 years and have two children, ended their relationship “earlier this year”.
However, the former couple remain on good terms and dedicated to raising their children together.
“They separated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children,” Helena’s representative told People.com. “We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time.”
The 48-year-old actress and kooky filmmaker Tim started dating in 2001 after he directed her in Planet of the Apes. Together they have 11-year-old son Billy and seven-year-old daughter Nell.
The pair had frequently hit headlines with their unconventional relationship, and famously lived in separate houses next door to one another in London.
Helena and Tim confirmed that they are still good friends by attending a performance of hit musical Cats in London earlier this week.
As Tim posed with Nicole Scherzinger, who stars in the show, Helena could be seen photobombing the shot.
Helena and Tim have also worked together on numerous occasions over the years, on films including Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
And while many couples find it difficult working together, Tim said in a previous interview that he loved the chance to team up with his long-term partner in a professional capacity.
“She’s very secure in what she does,” Tim revealed to Total Film magazine. “There’s no conflict. She’s the most secure actress I’ve ever met.”0
