If this substitute teacher singing Britney Spears karaoke during class is wrong, I don’t want to be right

It’s a sign of the time, folks. As the popular culture is currently in the throws of everything Britney Spears, it comes as no surprise that her influence is everywhere. Her music is even showing up in the classroom! A substitute teacher in at Bowie High School in Austin, TX decided to enlighten pupils with a karaoke rendition of the classic Britney song, “Toxic” and he spared no expense. He even brought a strobe light to get the mood just right! Unfortunately, the Austin Independent School District didn’t appreciate this teacher’s pedagogical techniques and they asked him to leave after first period. Apparently belting Britney before lunch “wasn’t following [their] best practices.”

What’s wrong with a little levity in the classroom when the teacher is away? His Britney karaoke sure beats watching a slide show on bacteria (*beep*) and probably added a mood to an otherwise boring hour of quite time.
