It’s time to give hands some true TLC

When it comes to skincare, most of us focus our attention on the face and neck.

But how much time do you spend taking care of your hands? Well, there’s no time like the present to give them a little TLC.

Holistic wellbeing expert Line Friis has shared three techniques for increasing blood circulation and moisturising the skin.

Start by taking a dollop of hand cream and massaging it all over the hands.

“Then, stretch the fingers backwards to open the meridians and create flow in the body. This will open the chakras, blood, heart energy. Take one finger at a time and feel where the stretch starts and hold the finger in its stretch for several seconds,” she advised.

Next up, wriggle the wrists back and forth; this will open up and loosen the joints.

“This will relax and release a lot of the fluid between the bones, especially beneficial for those sitting in front of a computer,” the expert advised.

To conclude, Line recommends massaging the trigger point between the thumb and index finger. “Press deeply into the trigger point to massage the skin or circular movements around the thumb. Avoid this technique if you are pregnant,” she added.
