Jessica Simpson credits a cauliflower-rich diet for helping her lose a staggering 100 pounds after the birth of her daughter Birdie Mae.
The singer and fashion mogul shared her dramatic weight loss with fans on Instagram last week, and now she’s revealed the secrets behind her body transformation.
“It’s been a lot of hard work. I have to say that I have worked very hard,” she told HSN. “Everything that I’ve been eating is mostly made with cauliflower.”
She stuck to strict eating habits for six months, but now Jessica is enjoying the occasional treat, including potato chips, with her adding: “I just ate a bag of Cheetos.”
The I Think I’m in Love With You hitmaker, who welcomed her third child Birdie Mae with her husband, former American football player Eric Johnson, in March, also admitted she couldn’t stop eating during her latest pregnancy.
“When you’re pregnant, I gain a lot, I mean, a lot,” the 39-year-old emphasised. “I didn’t expect to gain as much with my third. I thought I’d learned my lesson, but apparently that’s just the way God made me – very hungry and pregnant.”
Jessica, who is also mum to daughter Maxwell, seven, and son Ace, six, is enjoying her body again, admitting she’s given up on plans to get back to her pre-motherhood look.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get back to (my skinny jeans),” she said. “I save them and say, ‘One day’, but I think after having kids, I don’t think that your hips really ever go completely back. All worth it! Your body changes.”
Her younger sister, Ashlee Simpson Ross, recently heaped praise on Jessica for her “dedication” to losing the baby weight.
“I mean, she’s been working so hard and she looks amazing,” she told Us Weekly.
