Julia’s Christmas Cookie/Toffee Recipe
- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. dark brown sugar
- 1 bag chocolate chips
- Nuts if you like
- Saltine crackers
- Parchment paper
Preheat oven to 400
Line 9 X 13 cookie sheet w/ a lip w/ parchment paper
- Add single layer of saltine crackers
Melt butter & brown sugar –and bring to a boil (stirring constantly) until mixture thickens. Aprox. 2/3 mins.
Pour butter mixture over saltines and bake until mixture is bubbling (5 mins?) take out of oven put on rack
Pour bag of chocolate chips on top and wait a few minutes until chips look melted and then spread w/ knife.
Add nuts if you like and cool
Cut or break into pieces
