Kendall Jenner responds to fan’s encouraging message about her acne

Kendall Jenner gained the admiration of her fans after she walked the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globes on Sunday (07Jan18) while battling an acne breakout.

The model, and member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, looked stunning in a black voluminous tulle couture dress by Giambattista Valli, in solidarity with the Time’s Up movement. But her make-up was doing double duty trying to conceal a painful looking acne breakout.

Despite her skin woes, the 22-year-old smiled for the cameras and looked confident, prompting fans to praise the star for her positive appearance.

“Ok but @KendallJenner showing up and strutting her acne while looking like a gorgeous star is what every girl needs to understand,” wrote one Twitter user in a post which was liked over 12,000 times. And another tweeted: “I’m so glad (you) have no shame in something EVERYONE goes through.”

Kendall responded to the love from her fans by posting her own encouraging message about overcoming insecurity.

“Never let that s**t stop you!” she wrote acknowledging her skin issues, and adding a positive smiley face emoji wearing sunglasses and a star.

It’s not the first time Kendall has spoken about the problems she has with her skin.

The model, who made her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut in 2015, opened up about her skin troubles in a post on her website that same year, revealing she had such bad acne when she was younger, it “completely ruined” her self-esteem.

“I wouldn’t even look at people when I talked to them… I felt like such an outcast; when I spoke, it was with my hand covering my face,” she explained. “Sure, I had crushes in high school, but I wouldn’t even think about looking at guys.”

However, she noted that since she has grown in confidence and developed a positive self-image, she no longer takes criticism personally.

“Slowly, I’m working towards not caring and I’m just in so much of a better place about it all now that I’m older… I realized that it’s a part of life for some people and it doesn’t define who you are,” she added.
