Kim Kardashian has reportedly spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on planning a lavish “welcome to the world party” for baby number three.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, who welcomed her new arrival by a surrogate mother in the early hours of Monday (15Jan18), has reportedly planned a $270,000 (£200,000) global themed soiree with the help of the Kardashians’ party planner Mindy Weiss, and their favourite floral designer, Jeff Leatham.
The mother-of-three has gone on a spending spree that includes $217,000 (£300,000) to outfit the baby’s nursery, $43,000 (£60,000) on child development experts to help her existing two children, North, four, and Saint, two, adjust to the new arrival, and $110,000 (£80,000) of plastic surgery to makeover her body.
An insider claims the spending is linked to Kim’s insecurity about the fact that she didn’t carry her child this time.
“As Kim hasn’t been able to carry the baby it’s made her go even more extreme with her spending as she feels like she has to over-compensate,” a source told British magazine Closer.
“Their entire garden will be staged as different parts of the world – with sushi chefs being flown in from Japan, an Alice in Wonderland tea party, a mini safari with African wildlife and dancers from Peru.”
Party guests will also allegedly receive a solid gold charm with an engraving of the newborn’s initials.
Further expenditure has been racked up hiring a team of development experts to fly in from New York to ensure her two children have an easy time accepting their new sibling.
Kim previously admitted in an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan, that North didn’t really like her brother.
“I don’t know if it’s ’cause she’s the older sister… I don’t know what it is; I thought it was a phase. She does not like her brother. It’s so hard for me,” Kim confided to co-host Ryan Seacrest last August.
