Reality TV star Kim Zolciak suffered a stroke on Tuesday (Sept. 22), just hours after finishing Dancing with the Stars.
The 37-year-old star is competing on the US TV show at the moment, but jetted home to Atlanta from Los Angeles after a performance this week.
Shortly after landing she fell ill and she has thanked her husband Kroy as well as others for handling the situation so well.
“The last 24hrs have been whirlwind!” she explained on Instagram, next to a picture of herself in a hospital gown and lying in bed.
“I landed yesterday morning from LAX (took the red eye right after DWTS) I got home and within minutes suffered a TIA (mini stroke) the left side of my body went completely numb and my speech was gone. Extremely grateful for @sladeosborne @briellebiermann @nikitpressley @ kroybiermann for quick reactions (sic)!”
At the moment Kim is still in hospital, although she is recovering well. She has already regained all of her feeling back and is hoping to be allowed home later today (24Sep15).
The mother-of-six had seemed well in the run up to her latest social media post. Over the last week she has been keeping fans updated with her life on her various profiles, revealing she had undergone a Botox procedure not long before performing on Dancing with the Stars.
Although she has been open about getting cosmetic procedures including a breast augmentation, this week Kim insisted there is a good reason for her having the skin-smoothing injections.
“I had to get Botox. I needed it. So my doctor came in for me last night. He just had a baby two days ago [but] he came in for me,” she told Fox411.
“On a more serious note, it does help with my migraines. I’ve got it since I was 23 and so I’m at the 90 day mark – if I go past that, I end up in the bed with the migraines. I have to hurry up and get it but it works.”
