Kris Jenner admits Caitlyn Jenner’s decision to date men is “confusing.”
Kris was married to Caitlyn when she was still known as Bruce, before her transition to become a woman. Their union lasted for 22 years, and the former couple share daughters Kylie and Kendall together.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday (01March16), host Ellen asked Kris about Caitlyn’s recent revelation she’s ready to date men.
“I saw that, too,” Kris said of Caitlyn’s statement. “(It’s) confusing for sure.”
However, Kris fully supports her ex-spouse’s sexual orientation, adding she hopes Caitlyn finds happiness.
“I think that I really want her to be happy and be really comfortable in all the things where she says she wasn’t her true authentic self for most of her life,” she stated. “(She) knew when she was four that she felt like that. So you don’t want somebody to be miserable or in pain or anything of that.”
Prior to Caitlyn’s decision to go public with her gender change, there were multiple reports in the press that the former Olympian was transitioning. She finally opened up in an explosive interview with Diane Sawyer in April 2015, later unveiling her new identify on the cover of Vanity Fair.
“I think for me, just getting used to that – you know I am human and I have my feelings and I try and it’s baby steps – and it’s like the mourning of somebody that you feel you are never going to really see or be with again,” Kris said of how she coped with Caitlyn’s news.
Since living life as a woman, Caitlyn has landed her own reality series I Am Cait. In the show’s latest trailer the 66-year-old admits she doesn’t see herself dating women in the future as she’s “been there, done that, got three ex-wives.”
“That part I don’t understand,” Kris sighed. “I said to her when this first happened, ‘You are so excited. You have to wait for the rest of us to catch up, like we haven’t had as many drinks as you.’”
