Lamar Odom: ‘I want Khloe Kardashian back’

Lamar Odom

Lamar Odom has stated he wants his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian back in an explosive new interview.

The former basketball player’s divorce from his reality star spouse was finalized last December. It had originally been delayed following Lamar’s overdose in a Las Vegas brothel in October, 2015, after which Khloe put a hold on proceedings in order to care for her ex and help him in his recovery.

Khloe has since moved on with her life, and is in a relationship with basketball player Tristan Thompson, but her idyllic romance isn’t putting Lamar off hoping for a reconciliation with his former wife in the future.

The 37-year-old made the admission during a promo for his interview on The Doctors, after host Dr. Travis Stork asks him: “Going forward, when you look at your life ahead of you, what are you looking forward to?”

Pausing briefly, Lamar then answers: “Umm, honestly, I want my wife back.”

Khloe and Lamar married on television in September, 2009, but the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star filed for divorce in 2013 after allegations surfaced of her spouse’s infidelity and drug relapse. They signed divorce papers in July, 2015, but things were then halted following Lamar’s near-fatal overdose that October. Khloe started up divorce proceedings again last May, with it made final on 17 December.

Lamar’s recovery from his overdose has been a lengthy one, with months of rehabilitation and specialist treatment. He also sought help for his drug addiction issues by checking himself into rehab last December, and left only when he had completed the facility’s substance abuse program.

A source told of Lamar’s departure from rehab: “Lamar is doing great and he’s happy. He’s heading home to LA. He has the support of friends and family and his kids visited him last week.”

He is also set to be filming a reality show which shows his progress following his stint in rehab, apparently focusing on how he is turning his life around as well as any relapses he may suffer.

Lamar’s interview with The Doctors airs on January 17.
