After watching this whole video, I love Mayim Bialik’s message. Let’s face it, she’s really damn smart and clearly knows the research more than the common… woman.
Do I think one can never refer to a grown woman as a girl? No, i.e. “hey, girl, hey!”
Do I think we should call women “women” more often? Yes.
I also love what she has to say regarding the meaning of language — words matter, they have meaning — and that only referring to women in cutesy ways reinforces the idea that women should all be pretty, pretty princesses.
Spoiler alert: we’re not.
