Antonio Banderas will pay Melanie Griffith $65,000 (£43,333)-a-month in spousal support after a judge finally signed off on their divorce.
The former Hollywood couple split in 2014, after 18 years of marriage, and the actors reached a settlement over finances and other assets in July (15).
However, the divorce deal has only now been officially finalized after a California judge approved the agreement this week (begs07Dec15).
According to court papers obtained by TMZ.com, the pair kept its finances separate following its marriage in 1996 until 2004, when Banderas and his wife apparently signed a post-nuptial contract. As a result, they will split all movie earnings from 2004 until their separation last year (14), which includes the lucrative pay cheques Antonio received for hit films like Shrek 2, franchise spin-off Puss in Boots, and 2014’s The Expendables 3.
Melanie has been granted the couple’s house in Aspen, Colorado, while they shared the profits from the recent sale of their Los Angeles mansion.
The Spanish actor, 55, will also provide his ex with bumper payments every month for spousal support, reports TMZ.
Melanie, 58, had initially requested full physical custody of their daughter Stella, but that issue resolved itself in September, 2014, when she turned 18.
The divorce is Melanie’s fourth and Antonio’s second failed marriage.
He has since moved on and is dating Dutch investment consultant Nicole Kimpel, who is 20 years his junior.
