Prabal Gurung is gearing up to make a splash in the world of bridal.
The Nepalese-American designer launched his eponymous debut line in 2009 and has gone on to dress the likes of former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Diane Kruger.
Now, Gurung is launching his debut collection of wedding dresses, titled A Love Letter.
“The Bridal 2022 collection is an ode to all those who are valiant enough to wield the power and buoyancy to love. To those who have been able to grasp what it is to love someone, as well as themselves, unreservedly. It is for those who have inspired us and walked into our lives, shaping forms of beauty, elegance, and forte – time and time again.”
The fashion star’s line is comprised of 13 elegant designs, all of which are available in sizes ranging from U.S. 0 – 14. (U.K. 2 – 16). There is also the option to custom-make larger sizes.
Highlights include a chic gown with layered tulle skirt and beaded bodice, a white silk number with oversized bow attached to the back, a tailored suit featuring wide-legged trousers, and a sleek floor-length dress with detachable puff sleeves.
“To love is to reveal one’s idiosyncrasies while fully taking another’s in with benevolence, empathy, and acceptance. Through this act, we can liberate ourselves. However, to justly unfetter another is to give them non-restrictive options,” he added. “This collection serves as a love letter to the bold, the beautiful, the phenomenal, and the courageously authentic individuals we know and are fortunate enough to love.”
Prabal Gurung Bridal will be available to purchase from October.
