Princess Charlotte will serve as a bridesmaid while Prince George will act as page boy at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding on Saturday (19May18).
Representatives for the Royal Family revealed the couple had selected six girls aged between two and seven to act as bridesmaids during the ceremony at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in England.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s three-year-old daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, was announced first, alongside Prince Harry’s goddaughters Zalie Warren, two, and Florence van Cutsem, three. Van Custem is the daughter of Alice and Major Nicholas van Cutsem, who guarded the royal carriage during Prince William’s wedding in 2011.
Meghan has selected her goddaughters Remi and Rylan Litt, aged six and seven, the daughters of one of her close friends Benita Litt, and four-year-old Ivy Mulroney, the daughter of her best pal, stylist Jessica Mulroney, who was spotted arriving in London’s Heathrow Airport with her husband Benedict and their three children on Tuesday night.
Their twin boys Brian and John, seven, also have key roles – they have been chosen as page boys alongside His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge, four. The last page boy will be Prince Harry’s six-year-old godson, Jasper Dyer, the son of Amanda and Mark Dyer, who has been a friend of the family for years.
The news comes shortly after it was revealed Meghan’s dad Thomas Markle would not be walking her down the aisle as he had to have another operation following a recent heart attack. The actress’ half-siblings Samantha and Thomas Jr. have not been invited to the ceremony and have been speaking out against Meghan in recent weeks.
Samantha told TMZ on Tuesday night that she won’t stop defending their family.
“If it’s about my life or my father’s there’s something in this country known as freedom of speech. She doesn’t have a copyright on that,” she said. “She’s not going to tell me that I can’t speak about my own life or my father’s where it’s a matter of public self defence because the media is disparaging us. I’m not gonna take it.”
