Britain’s Princess Charlotte’s godparents have been named.

The two-month-old daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is due to be christened at the Church of St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham, later today.

Ahead of the ceremony Kensington Palace has confirmed some details, including who has been asked to take on godparent duties.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have asked the following people to be godparents to Princess Charlotte, all of whom are friends or family of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge: Miss Sophie Carter, Mr James Meade, Mr Adam Middleton, The Hon. Laura Fellowes and Mr Thomas van Straubenzee,” the statement read.

It’s also been announced that Queen Elizabeth II and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh will be at the service, along with William’s father Prince Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall.

Catherine’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton will also be there, along with her siblings Pippa and James. William’s brother Prince Harry is currently travelling in Africa.

Before the christening William and Catherine will walk from Sandringham House to the church, with Charlotte and her big brother Prince George with them. This will mark the first time the group have been publicly seen as a family of four.

“Princess Charlotte will wear the hand made replica of the Royal Christening Robe, made by Angela Kelly, Dressmaker to The Queen,” the statement added.

“The Lily Font and water from the River Jordan will be used during the baptism.”

After the christening guests will be treated to a tea, including a tier of cake from William and Catherine’s wedding.
