9/2/15 was a memorable day at myTalk 107.1.
On the corner of Cooper and Underwood at the Minnesota State Fair, at the myTalk 107.1 booth, Renee and Shane said their I Dos.
The bride was resplendent in a beautiful white dress and adorable heels (she changed into Wonder Woman Chuck Taylors after the ceremony for comfort), and the groom looked dapper in his vest and dress shirt.
The witnesses were Bradley Traynor and a friend of the couple, and I, Colleen Lindstrom was the officiant. The Bride and Groom laughed as we signed the marriage license that they had gone to great lengths for an autograph.
Renee and Shane had tried to get married two other times. The first time, the power went out at the venue, and the second time, Renee’s health issues made it impossible for them to have the day they planned. The goal on Wednesday was to get them married, and we promised them it would happen. And it did.
After the vows were said and the rings exchanged, we sent the newlyweds off to “honeymoon” on Ye Old Mill. The ride is celebrating 100 years this year, and it was only fitting that the State Fair ride known as the tunnel of love be the site of their honeymoon.
But that’s not all, Larry Abdo and his family, the owners of the Nicollet Island Inn graciously gifted the couple a weekend at the beautiful and historic Nicollet Island Inn. The Ultimate Romance Package at The Nicollet Island Inn includes two nights stay, a bottle of Champagne and petit fours in the room Gorgeous flowers waiting for them, a FIVE-course dinner with paired wines, breakfast in bed, and two Nicollet Island Inn robes to take home with them.
We at myTalk feel so fortunate to have been asked to be part of this special day for Renee and Shane, and are especially thankful to Ye Old Mill and the Nicollet Island Inn for helping make the day so special. Congratulations to Renee and Shane!0
